Not 100% sure about ID. Plentiful here (I posted two adults and one nymph)

Seen after the Miramar Pineland field trip.

Thanks to Steff Leigh and the Broward Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society for organizing a great field trip to Miramar Pinelands! You can learn more about this awesome group of native-plant-loving folks here: https://broward.fnpschapters.org/

Big shout out to Jade as well for helping us find a patch of sundews and also taking me to one of the clubmoss spots a bit after the field trip.

It was also great finally meeting Anson, a young dude who has been finding all kinds of cool organisms!

Here is a link to everyone's iNaturalist observations from this field trip: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?on=2022-09-18&order_by=observed_on&place_id=146532

Got to Miramar Pineland a little early and poked around near the parking lot. I heard quite a few bobolinks flying over but did not try to get a recording.

Found boring in the stem of Coccoloba uvifera. Frass was littered all over a few leaves, and from that I noticed the little hole in the stem where the frass seemed to be coming from as seen in the third photo. The larva had mined out about 15cm of stem.

Seen on a field trip to Osteen Hammock led by Lydia Cuni for the Dade Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society. It was a great group of participants and we had a great time learning about pine rockland and hammock plants thanks to Lydia! For more info about field trips like this, keep an eye on the Dade Chapter's calendar here: https://dade.fnpschapters.org/events/

Their events are almost always free and open to the public although joining is a great way to support this awesome organization :-)

Is this a hybrid Anolis carolinesis x A. ?
I’ve never noticed a Green Anole with a large head like this and huskier body. I’ve seen both typical looking Green Anoles and also Knight Anoles around here.
