Drosera (see other observation from today) found growing among oi oi with Drosera capensis and another as yet unidentified species (see other observation from today). Location only partially accurate, need to review this as the app didn't log it but have GPS coords.

This is the population near end of runway with a mixture of both the red to orange to orange green to green specimens present. As noted by Cam Kilgour the red coloured species have a flower scape with multiple flowers up to 14.

Descripción

Locally abundant on fine silica sand along lake margin in sites that would be flooded over in winter. This is an example of the 'green morph' of this species as it occurs in New Zealand. At this location i have only ever seen the 'green morph' the next lake over it is the more usual 'red morph'.

After a lot of comparison I believe I may have found another colony of C. sactigeorgianus. I will check with Carlos after I have posted the photo's. These wre the only colony I found still in flower in the Reserve the other many colonies were well finished having swollen ovaries already.

Pycroft's Petrels visited us four times over the past two weeks. First arrived during a storm and then returned also during fine weather. Spent one night burrowed under our caravan, hence the handling photo.
