I would love to know more about this ant, since I was really young I have observed these climb all over a rocky ironstone cliff face but never anywhere else. If anyone could point me to more info that would be super cool, as far as I am aware most species in this subgenus are tropical and it looks like they are limited to small banded ironstone formations in the southwest which are very isolated from each other (in this region)

Ant seen on the walking track, dragging a very large piece of bark towards its nest. The nest was less than a metre away, however the task proved too difficult, and the ant deposited the bark on top of a rock and instead took a small leaf to the nest.
Other ants similarly moving leaves towards the nest. Nest was partially covered in leaves. I will try to get a photo of the nest to add to this observation.
