Found this huge mushroom in my front yard! The water bottle is there for size comparison. Maybe it’s a parasol mushroom?

It jumped onto the already-dead insect (midge?), picked it up, rejected it, and jumped onto the vertical cord visible in some of the later photos.

This sound came from fairly high in a large Douglas fir. It was surprisingly loud, given at several minute intervals for an hour or so in the late morning (shortened here for ease of listening). I assume this is some kind of arboreal rodent. No birds in the area make a sound like this (alarm calls of Catharus thrushes come kinda close, but it's not that). I've never heard this before, and would love to know what it is!

Descripción
just watched a coyote hunting successfully along the driveway & hedgerow/woods between us and next house!! I heard squawking & scrambling at the edge of the deck & base of bird feeding station, then saw the coyote run off towards the strip of woods & shrubs, then zip out 40 ft. or so farther up (W), then I was heading for the camera and window, coyote came back E maybe 20ft., dove into the woods again, then proudly sauntered out about 20ft. more to the W carrying an unlucky bunny as I got the camera on and ready.
