Obviously T. sessile by odor when crushed. Colony under stone at edge of meadow.

Marine Park area, Brooklyn. A large number (20?) of crows congregated on a tree & nearby buildings & fence calling much higher pitched than normal contact calls. No obvious explanation, some were preening, no evidence of urgency or danger or food!
