Several Does (females) together, feeding out in the open, in their heavy Winter coats. It was almost exactly half an hour before local sunset, and the time these Deer habitually start moving around in the open again in the evening. This day was unusually warm for February here (7° C. or 43° F.).
Do they spend much of the daylight hours asleep, or perhaps chewing their cud like a cow? They are well camouflaged this time of year, when they're not up and moving about much, in any case.
