Caught in the estuary in a walking beach seine just off of garry point park while conducting salmon research in a small side channel with 1.45 salinity. Not the best pictures but nothing we’ve ever seen before?
Caught the female of two bass that live in a puddle by the river with their fry. Together as a family they torment the mosquito fish along the banks of the puddle.
This smallmouth bass decided to bite my trout lure while I was fishing. He was about 7 inches long and about an inch and a half wide. He was a dark green colour with large dark eyes. He had a spine along the top of his back.
Need a sculpin expert here, I’m thinking this is a Coraline Sculpin but not 100% positive. I’ve only seen them in tidepools before, but caught this one in ~35ft of water in a kelp pad. Safely released
Perhaps a rainbow? There were no streaks under the jaw…
