Types 10 and 3 calling and flying together. Type 10 seems to be the majority of the birds with Type 3 calling at 5.5, 6.8 and 11 secs.
Type awaiting confirmation by Matt Young
Call type confirmed to be Type 10 by Matt Young of Cornell. Crossbill taxonomy is very much in need of revision, but L. c. sitkensis is the best-corresponding existing taxa for this call type.
Recorded from a remote-listening setup out my window. Amplified and high-pass filtered.
Matthew Young identified it as a type 10; observed it fly into the top of the tree an call, it did not feed on anything; Update in 2022 they were split and are now type 12 (thanks tkbird)
