I have no idea which species it is. The suggestions were for Riley's, Decula, or Cassin's. Riley's seems most likely, then Cassin's, followed by Decula. Maybe it isn't possible to tell definitively from just a picture.

Update. As noted by a commenter below, this is a female--no singing organs (tymbals) on the underside.
I've seen a few shed skins over the past few days, and this morning a number appeared in my neighborhood. Although this is also a time of 17-year brood emergence in many areas, I have seen only the 13-year brood XIX in Durham (1998, 2011, 2024). I think some of the 17-year broods occur to the north and west of the Triangle, but not in Durham.
