Εξαβράγχιος καρχαρίας (Hexanchus griseus)

Κοσμοπολίτικο είδος που ζει σε τροπικά και εύκρατα νερά, σε βάθη έως και 2000 μ. Μπορεί να ξεπεράσει τα 4 μ. και τα 500 κιλά σε μέγεθος και τρέφεται με μεγάλο εύρος οργανισμών, όπως άλλους καρχαρίες, σαλάχια, ψάρια, καλαμάρια, καβούρια, ακόμα και φώκιες. Είναι ωοζωοτόκο είδος και ακίνδυνο για τον άνθρωπο. To είδος προστατεύεται από το Π.Δ. 67/1981.

The bluntnose sixgill shark (Hexanchus griseus), often simply called the cow shark lives in tropical and temperate waters, at depths up to 2000 m. It can exceed 4 m and 500 kg in size and feeds on a wide range of organisms, such as other sharks, skates, fish, squid, crabs, and more. and seals. It is an oviparous species and harmless to humans. The shark is protected by the P.D 67/1981.
