List of Birds Observed at the Tambopata Research Center in 2006

I took a trip to Peru in 2006 and visited the Tambopata Research Center on the Tambopata River. I took lots of pictures, but was relieved of my camera and a few other possessions by three young men with weapons upon my return to Lima. Fortunately, I did write a few things down. I recently came across the list of animals I saw on the trip and I thought iNat would be a good place to keep it. The common names I'm giving here were the names given to me by the guide I was with. One of the best parts of the trip was birding at the Chuncho Clay Lick. Hundreds of birds the likes of which I'd only seen in pet stores arrived in the wee hours of the morning. Wish I had those photos.

That's awesome that you went there, sucks about being robbed later. How long were you in Peru?

Yeah, that was my first and only mugging experience. It did suck. I was in Peru for two weeks that trip. I went back later for almost two months but stayed in cities for the most part the second time around.
