I'm a postdoctoral researcher in neuroscience, modeling the genetics of neurodegenerative disease using the nematode C. elegans. I'm also interested in evolutionary genetics, with a bit of ornithology and taxonomy trivia on the side. I've been a birder for 20+ years and am a member of the Avian Records Committee of Connecticut. My birding is of course US-based, but I do have some experience in the Neotropics and the Eastern & Western Palearctic. I once accidentally poisoned myself with a poison dart frog (Oophaga pumilio).

Currently based in Providence, RI. Using iNat for all my non-bird sightings (feel free to stalk my bird sightings here: https://ebird.org/profile/NTAxMjA2/world).
