I have worked as a conservationist focusing on conservation outside of formally protected areas for 30+ years. Following a six year stint as a curator at a zoo, I spent 11 years in Namibia dealing with carnivore conservation and human wildlife conflict mitigation with the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Following a walk-about after leaving Namibia, I joined the Endangered Wildlife Trust's Drylands Conservation Programme in October 2011, and am based in Loxton in the Northern Cape. Our focal species is the Riverine Rabbit (Bunolagus monticularis), but the programme also has a strong sustainable land management focus. I love the Karoo, having done a considerable amount of travelling, I can safely say this is still my most favourite place in the world.
