Birding is my favourite interest since I started birding when I was 10 years old. Until 2010 I was mostly interested in Western Palearctic birds, but then I discovered other places of the world. I am a University teacher and educate biology teacher students in Germany (and I hope that some of them will grow up to the next generation of birders). My research is on bird behaviour (alarm calls, vocal communication) and, more recently, on social science aspects of birding.
