I'm the head of Friends of Bees, a working group of Watertown Citizens for Peace, Justice, and the Environment. (watertowncitizens.org)

In 2006, I started taking pictures of bees in my yard and uploading them to Bug Guide. In the first year, I found 12 species of bees just in my own garden! My favorite is still the beautiful little green Agapostemon. I think they should be called Jade Bees.

I helped found Friends of Bees in 2014 to educate about and advocate for native bees and other pollinators. We are planting pollinator gardens in Watertown, and hope to see Watertown, MA become a Bee City.
