I am an old biology major with an interest in plants, mostly in woody dicots but also in unusual herbs like the S. flava in my profile picture. Most of my observations are in day-trip range from New York City, where I have lived since birth.

I also look at birds, principally wetland species, but I'm not a telephoto kind of guy so those observations haven't (and probably won't) make it to iNaturalist.

My current obsession is with true sumacs (Rhus spp.) and Poison Sumac.
