I grew up knowing cardinals, blue-jays, robins, and red-winged blackbirds. Now I live among the Elster, Kohlmeisel and Amsel.

In both places, it was hard to know what I was seeing. Most identification books never seemed to really be helpful.

iNaturalist has helped to both recognize and see so many more plants, animals and insects when I am outside.

I still make mistakes, but that is how you learn. Thank you to everyone who has helped me with an identification.
