I am a volunteer steward at Theodore Stone Forest Preserve in Cook County, IL, a 140-acre site with remnant prairie, morainal oak woodland, and wetland habitats among more degraded sections. These ecosystems support 370 native plant species along with abundant wildlife. New flora and fauna have been discovered here every year and documented on iNaturalist.

I am a member of the Northeast Chapter of the Illinois Native Plant Society (currently Vice President) and on the informal steering committee for Friends of Illinois Nature Preserves. I am also a member of the Dragonfly Society of the Americas and the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Key Stewards. I monitor with the Plants of Concern program which tracks E/T species throughout the Chicago region.
