Having dedicated her life to championing the marine world, Valerie Taylor is a world famous conservationist, underwater photographer and filmmaker, author and artist. Valerie has dived around Australia and the world, recording incredible footage of sharks, fishes, and invertebrates among other marine life.

Valerie and her late husband Ron filmed the great white shark footage for the film Jaws, as well as underwater sequences for countless other films and documentaries, and Valerie's images have appeared on the front cover of National Geographic.

In recognition of her scientific contributions and conservation work, Valerie is a Member of the Order of Australia, and has received the Centenary Medal, Australian Geographic Lifetime of Conservation award and NOGI award for Arts, Academy of Underwater Arts & Sciences among many honours.
