Howdy, naturalists!

I'm a photographer and passionate nature lover based in beautiful British Columbia, with a deep appreciation for the diversity of life we share this planet with. My goal on iNaturalist is to contribute high-quality, identifiable photos of species from across North America, with a particular interest in herps and birds.

Garter snakes are a personal favorite—I find their subtle beauty and adaptability fascinating. I enjoy capturing moments that help others identify these unique creatures, especially species like the Puget Sound and Northwestern garter snakes.

Birds are another major focus of mine. From raptors soaring overhead to warblers flitting through the trees, I’m always on the lookout for interesting species. While my current setup limits my range, I’m excited to expand into bird photography once I get a telephoto lens. There’s nothing like the thrill of spotting a rare or migratory bird and getting a crisp, clear shot.

For macro work, I rely on a Laowa 60mm f/2.8 2X macro lens on a basic Canon DSLR. This setup allows me to get close to the intricate details of nature, whether it’s a tiny insect or the texture of a snake's scales.

I curate a project called Herps of B.C. If you are interested in joining go to https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/herps-of-b-c

Looking forward to sharing my observations, learning from the iNaturalist community, and contributing to a growing knowledge base of the natural world. Let’s keep exploring!
