Throughout my observations, I walked around the Pine Tree Reserve and the Reservoir. While I was walking, I took note of the students around me and also the variety of trees and plants. The weather was on the chillier side today and although it was overcast this morning, by the afternoon it was beautiful and sunny. This made the walk even more enjoyable as it was warm due to the sun, but still cool enough to avoid insects and remain comfortable while walking. I noticed a lot of different types of flowers and vegetation. It seemed that the flowers were reaching the end of their season. I even spotted some funghi, which was a surprise. I saw a squirrel as well, but was not quick enough to snap a photo before it ran away. Another organism I noticed while on my walk was a mallard in the water of the Reservoir. While watching it, I got to see it fish for food in the water as it bobbed in and out. I do not think I realized the variety of vegetation in such a small ecosystem of the Pine Tree Reserve and along the Res. I have been having a stressful week, so it was really nice to get outside and focus on nature for a change!
