Eastern Box Turtle Laying Eggs
Tonight I saw observed something I hadn't seen since counting eggs of leatherback and olive ridley sea turtles years ago; an Eastern box turtle excavating a nest cavity. Although much smaller in size than sea turtles and medium-sized for a box turtle, it is exciting to see none-the-less. So I will return tonight to see if I can observe her laying some eggs.
