Note: a decision affected my curator status, but multiple curators, users, and I proved it was incorrect. Please support me to be a curator here or ask me to, thanks very much (193 votes).

I study, observe, and identify bees and wasps. mostly Bombus, Apis, Vespidae, Sphecidae, and Crabronidae, and additional wildlife, and have so far completed a Biology B.S. and M.S. I'm a contributor to local pollinator surveys, led a Thacher State Park bioblitz, briefly volunteered at a museum insect collection, and have added complete iNat Places species checklists to the website. My main interest is the discovery process of first photos and IDs of described, uncommon, rare, or undescribed species, and recording new species locality records among all sources. I'm a volunteer curator or editor for iNaturalist, BugGuide (Contributing Editor), Global Biology Information Facility, etc. I'm also interested in urban greenspace habitats, sustainable cities, and the natural rewilding of unmanaged or abandoned built environments. If viewing my photos, use the has photos filter. Feel free to message, I try to check all notifications in time. My profile photo is masked bees (Hylaeus) visiting narrow-leaved foxtail lily (Eremurus stenophyllus) on a green roof.
