I am a naturalist in the Forest Preserves of Cook County, working in the Resource Management department coordinating and leading trainings. I also manage some projects out of Sagawau Environmental Learning Center in my "spare" time.

My passion for insects was ignited in high school thanks to an amazing biology teacher and a project involving red flour beetles, Tribolium castaneum.

Some of my projects or projects I'm involved in:
Magicicada Soundmap Project for Brood XIII in 2024
Document the insect fauna biodiversity at Sagawau
Curate entomology collection at Sagawau
Monitor Odonata
Singing Insects Monitoring Program, Please visit the webpage: http://singinginsects.net/.
Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology

My other interests and passions include: restoration, Coleoptera, pollinator ecology, Southwest Asian music, philosophy (looking at you BSPA), reading.

Some of the books I would highly recommend include:
NON-FICTION
Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer
Locust: the Devastating Rise and Mysterious Disappearance of the Insect that Shaped the American Frontier, by Jeffrey A Lockwood
Bees: An Identification and Native Forage Plant Guide by Heather Holm

FICTION
Raven Boys series by Maggie Stiefvater
Woman Hollering Creek by Sandra Cisneros
Kindred by Octavia Butler
