I am a medical entomologist experienced in the identification of ticks and mosquitoes. I have been involved in collecting and identifying ticks and mosquitoes from across the UK and Europe, as well as running the UK national recording schemes for ticks and mosquitoes. I currently research ticks and tick-borne bacteria in the United States.
My main area of ID expertise is ticks of the UK & Europe, but I have experience identifying tick specimens from around the world. I am also experienced in UK/European mosquito ID.
I am interested in iNaturalist data for monitoring activity and distributions of arthropod vector species, and have done a couple of studies on this:
