I have always been interested in the natural world and environmentalism both in itself and as it pertains to literature, art and poetry. My own writing is deeply engaged with the nonhuman world and our relationship to it.

I have a long standing interest in fungi. For years, I focused on the edibles, but now the whole ecology of the fungal world and its role in the "wood wide web" as well as in human cultures fascinates me.

I live in Virginia, but pieces of my heart are scattered around the American West, especially New Mexico and Washington state, as well as Hungary, the country of my ancestors.
