Αναγνώριση ειδών - Species identification

Τρία είδη που πολλοί συγχέουν μεταξύ τους είναι η κατουρλίδα (Sygnathus typhle), η σακοράφα (Sygnathus acus) και το ξενικό είδος, η τρομπέτα (Fistularia commersonii).

👉Η κατουρλίδα και η σακοράφα ανήκουν στην οικογένεια των συγγναθίδων και συναντώνται σχεδόν σε όλη την Ελλάδα. Η πρώτη φτάνει το μέγιστο μήκος των 35 εκατοστών και η δεύτερη των 50. Λόγω του επίμηκους σώματος τους, πολλοί τα συγχέουν με το ξενικό είδος της τρομπέτας που ανήκει στην οικογένεια των φιστουλαρίδων.

👉Η τρομπέτα ή φιστουλάρια είναι ένα είδος ξενικό που καταγράφηκε για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα το 2001. Φτάνει το μέγιστο μήκος των 160 εκατοστών και τρέφεται με μικρόψαρα, καρκινοειδή και μαλάκια. Είναι βρώσιμο.

👉Τα κύρια χαρακτηριστικά που κάνουν τη φιστουλάρια να ξεχωρίζει από τα άλλα είδη είναι το σχήμα του σώματος της, που είναι κάθετα πεπλατισμένο και όχι πλευρικά συμπιεσμένο, ενώ η ουρά της τελειώνει σε μαστιγοειδή σχηματισμό. Πολλοί δύτες έχουν αναφέρει ότι αλλάζει το χρώμα της ανάλογα με τις συνθήκες.

The following three species get people usually confused when it comes to identification.
👉(Sygnathus typhle) the broadnosed pipefish and (Sygnathus acus) greater pipefish, belong to the Syngnathidae Family and are found almost all over Greece. The first one reaches a maximum length of 35 cm and the second of 50. Due to their elongated body, many confuse them with the alien species (Fistularia commersonii) blue-spotted cornetfish that belong to the Fistulariidae Family.

👉The cornetfish was first recorded in Greece in 2001. It reaches a maximum length of 160 cm and feeds on small fish, crustaceans, and mollusks. It is edible.

👉The main characteristics(features) that make Fistularia stand out from other species are the shape of its body, which is vertically flattened and not laterally compressed, while its tail has a whiplike formation. Many divers have reported changing its color depending on the conditions.
