South section - 4/18/2023
Tuesday, 9:45-12:15 pm. 0 live newts, 34 dead newts.
Weather: nice, a bit cold.
Coverage: from the first stop sign to Aldercroft Heights intersection. I walked alone.
Newts: I had 34, including 9 juveniles. I had 16 of the newts on the hill side (1 juvenile), and 18 (7 juveniles) on the reservoir side.
Other roadkills: frogs, a toad, baby fence lizard, slender salamanders, millipedes.
Traffic: 53 cars, 7 trucks (SJJJ, USPS, County Roads), 0 motorcycles, 7 bikes, 0 pedestrians, 2 parked cars (2 cars at the Miller parking lot).
