Μετανάστευση των διαβολόψαρων (Mobula molular) - Migrating of the giant devil ray (Mobula molular)

Αυτό το μήνα, μέσα από τα γκρουπ του The MECO project παρακολουθούμε τη μετανάστευση των διαβολόψαρων (Mobula molular) από τη Γάζα προς τα βόρεια. Πριν λίγες μέρες και για δεύτερη χρονιά, είδαμε ένα μεγάλο κοπάδι στην Κύπρο (Ακαμάς), ενώ χθες ένα ακόμα μεγάλο κοπάδι κατευθυνόταν βόρεια του Ισραήλ.

Αν, παρά την καραντίνα, παρατηρήσετε διαβολόψαρα στη Κύπρο ή έχετε παλαιότερες φωτογραφίες, στείλτε μας τις καταγραφές σας!!! Θα μας βοηθήσει σημαντικά να κατανοήσουμε τις οδούς μετανάστευσης του μεγαλύτερου σαλαχιού της Μεσογείου.

Κάποια σαλάχια όπως τα αετόψαρα και τα διαβολόψαρα ποτέ δεν σταματούν να κολυμπούν και να μεταναστεύουν σε διάφορα μέρη για τροφή κάθε χρόνο. Αυτές οι μεγάλες ομάδες μπορούν να φτάσουν μέχρι 10.000 άτομα και είναι γνωστές ως "πυρετός".

Aν παρατηρήσετε κάποιο είδος σαλαχίου ή καρχαρία, μπορείτε να το ανεβάσετε στην ομάδα του προγράμματος Sharks and Rays in Gr and Cy.

This month, in the contexts of The MECO project, we are observing the migration of the Mediterranean giant devil ray population from Gaza to the northern part of the basin. A few days ago and for the second year in a row, we saw a large school in Cyprus (Akamas), while yesterday another large school was heading north of Israel.

If despite the quarantine, you'll notice any devil rays in Cyprus or if you have older photos of observations, please send them to us!!! It will help us a lot in understanding the migration routes of the largest Mediterranean ray.

Some rays, such as eagle rays and devil rays, never stop swimming and migrating to different places each year. These large groups can reach up to 10,000 individuals and are known as "fever".
