Owada & Kobayashi, in the Thyrididae chapter of Moths of Laos treated several Picrostomastis and Hypolamprus species, with a lengthy note under Hypolamprus grisea, comparing the genitalia of the type species for each genus. P. leucoschista (the type species of Picrostomastis) differs substantially from "P. subrosealis" and thus Owada & Kobayashi returned subrosealis to Hypolamprus
