I saw this burrowing owl on The Santa Lucia Preserve. As soon as I spotted it through my telephoto lens, it seemed to know I was observing and flew low above patches of coyote brush, landed, bobbed its head and hooted at me. It did this 5 times (every time I adjusted my camera tripod)
