ID was confirmed by Texas turtle expert Viviana Ricardez
@sambiology is there a taxon in iNat for this intergrade?
One Of These Things Is Not Like The Others
Red-eared sliders are native in Texas. Yellow-bellied sliders are not native but some folks release their pets into the wild. The introduced yellow-bellies have been breeding with the native red-ears. And this is what you get. Turtle on the right is an intergrade, coming from the mating of 2 subspecies. White Rock lake has a lot of odd looking turtles.
