1. Environment. In grass, isolated, 3-4 in 100m.
2. Plant. Sparsely branched, stem hard, woolly and ribbed.
3. Leaves. Long (eg 250mm), broad (eg 15mm) ,oblanceolate, tapering to narrow waist, the clasping onto stem, sometimes serrated at edge, shiny. Back has a strong rib. Further up stem become much smaller, narrower and woolly.
4. Inflorescence. Several flowers at terminal.
5. Flowers. Deep mauve ray florets, similar disk. Some yellow florets?
6. Bracts. Several rows (un-senecio) woolly, green, sharp and brown tipped.
