Remarkably showy pink-purple-flowered lily, with easy to overlook stem and leaves, growing on loose, previously disturbed soil, on a mild S-facing slope, along Miller Lateral Road, Marshall Canyon, San Gabriel Mountains foothills. Coin used for scale is a US quarter dollar (¢25 piece), 24.26 mm, 0.955 inch in diameter.

Gênero com cerca de 20 espécies originárias da América Central e do Sul.
A espécie Brassavola tuberculata é uma planta epífita, podendo crescer também sobre rochas. Possui folha rígida, coriacea, verde escura. As raízes são ramificadas e carnosas. Floresce nos meses de janeiro a março e agosto a dezembro. Prefere lugares úmidos. É facilmente encontrada na área das Cataratas do Iguaçu. O exemplar da foto foi encontrado na trilha do Sendero Verde, Parque Nacional del Iguazú, Argentina.

He repeated this behavior a couple of times. After preening himself he would bring his head up with mouth wide open, showing his tongue. Almost as if he was gagging on some feather bits.

I’ve never seen a coyote and a mule deer interact before! The coyote was just lying down resting, and then the deer slowly grazed it’s way towards the coyote and sniffed at it while it was lying down. The coyote looked a little fearful and moved a few steps away, then the deer gently stamped its front feet at it, and the coyote ran further away. That’s definitely the closest I’ve ever seen them come to each other.
