-Darker mantle than herring gull
-Streaking on head not as extensive as on Herring gull, none of those fine lines.
Pink legs, pale eyes, and red spot on bill shared features with Herring, as well as the presence of head streaking. There appears to be grit or sand at the tip of the lower mandible making it look dark.
