Tiny fly, body approx 2-3 mm.
On stump of deciduous tree, area damaged by a snowplow this winter. Part of one side torn off exposing "raw" wood. Hence also the gravel. This area of exposed wood now attracted several species of flies. Tiny flies like this one dominated.
