We were on this rock wall looking for the Mountain Coyote Mint when we stumbled upon this completely unexpected carrot growing out of the rocky substrate. I did not to see many things blooming up here considering how cold the winter was but these were in full force. It did start hailing for about 5 minutes here which was frustrating for me trying to get these into my press, but did provide a pretty cool photo opportunity.
An update and some fruit photos of the awesome and strange carrot I found up here the other day -- I will attempt to re-key this out later today.
need to check this, suprising to see its an iNat first but thats how it keyed in the field
edit: foliage and general structure matches collections in the area.
Collected this one. last pic shows habitat, they were true to their name and preferred cover from the junipers.
