The pictures aren't great, but there were three rattlesnakes under this log. Not only did we see them, but we were also rattled at.
Found this poor guy on Lake Hughes Road. Had been hit a few times and was already quite dead. It was quite chilly that day; the poor cold-blooded creature probably had little chance to cross the highway in time.
I moved him out of the road, so a scavenger could safely eat this fine meal later.
A juvenile with just a bud on its tail was moving around then went under this adult.
