Haven't seen these before, but today there were dozens of these fungus-infected Chauliognathus latched on to plant stems. Presumably related to the week of wet, coolish weather we've had?
Killed some kind of jumping spider on an Eastern Redbud (178788655).
I wasn't sure I'd be able to ID the host at all, but then I saw those two big eyes.
