I was looking for roosting dragonflies at Riley’s Lock on a cool morning. No dragonflies, but I did find this cute little planthopper; possibly a treehopper
Canon PowerShot SX620 HS (4.5mm-112.5mm f/3.2-6.6 lens, 20.2MP), with BlitzWolf BW-SL0 9cm 6500K ring light.
Little friend landed on the sleeve of my dress out of nowhere. I’m thinking it might be a nymphal stage of something? Definitely insect, 6-legged, I think it had 2 sets of wings, but it was hard to tell because it took off FAST when it did fly. Couldn’t see any typical insect-like eyes on the head region, which just looked like a little clump of dirt that transitioned directly into the thorax. Could fly (poorly) and JUMPED like crazy. I’m stumped!
