Several of these around the property, including some very young ones
Multiple specimens were found in a wooded area at the corner of West Middle Earth Trail and Old Antioch Trail near the service gate. In the understory beneath Juniperus virginiana and Ilex vomitoria, they were intertwined with Gonolobus suberosus and Smilax bona-nox.
Soil is mapped as Mabank loam. Other associated plants include Callicarpa americana, Vaccinium arboretum, Vernonia texana, Ambrosia psilostachya
These plants were found spreading along the ground on the south end of the parking lot in front of the lab. Soil is gravelly roadbed covered in fallen pine needles. The area is partly shaded by mature Pinus taeda. Small yellow flowers with 5 petals are present. Associated plants include Calyptocarpus vialis, Pinus taeda Rudbeckia hirta, Nama jamaicensis, Juglans nigra.
A low growing parking lot weed found in front of the lab. Soil is gravelly roadbed covered in fallen pine needles. Full sun. Tiny white tubular flowers. Associated plants include Digitaria, Cenchrus, Paspalum notatum, Calyptocarpus vialis, Pinus taeda.
