It's a little old but they are still there
The Sonoran Desert Toad is also known as the Colorado River Toad. It is known for it being able to release toxins from glands within its skin and these toxins have psychoactive properties. They are also known for being deadly to dogs. They are able to have as many as 8000 eggs in a single strand. They typically live 2-4 years. If you are trying to control them and keep them out of your yard remove hideouts and water or food sources. Toads like dark damp places so avoid having these in your backyard especially if you have dogs.
Sonoran desert toads are also poisonous to humans and it is highly recommended not to touch them. You will typically see them in the summer around monsoons but you can see them at other times of the year as well.
