Professor of Biology at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Director of the Coe College Wilderness Field Station north of Ely, Minnesota, at the threshold of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, and in the Superior National Forest. I bird, and am an ornithologist, but I am making headway on plant ID as well as understanding the more birdlike insects (butterflies and dragonflies).
