I am a professor of biology at Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas. My education leans towards prokaryotes, and my research interests concern astrobiology and extreme environments. In practice, I am a general biologist and semi-professional photographer. However, I'm a terrible taxonomist, which is part of the reason I joined iNaturalist. I rarely travel without a camera, and I have extensive digital image archives. Some of my observations may seem repetitive, but I hope they can provide insight concerning changes in populations and communities over time.
