[27.08.2024]Currently working on: Updating iNaturalist's liverwort taxonomy by adding species from various groups & higher taxa of Lejeuneaceae

I get many notifications on iNaturalist, so it can be difficult to keep up. I apologize if I respond late.

Hello, welcome to my profile! I am a 17 year old naturalist interested in photography, biology, taxonomy and systematics, chemistry, and science in general. I am mainly focused on identifying liverworts (Marchantiophyta), so there's a chance that this is how you discovered my profile. iNaturalist is my favorite website, and I try my best to be an active user and contributor.

Freelance technical translator
I can translate scientific articles from Russian to English and vice versa, for a reasonable price. When my German knowledge improves, I may start doing translations from German as well. Please send me a message if you are interested!

Curator
I'm a curator, meaning that I can answer questions about the website, add new taxa and edit existing ones (mostly focused on taxonomy of liverworts), edit wiki pages, and deal with violations of site rules. Don't hesitate to message me if you need help.

Observer
Current 2024 goal: 5000 observations
License: CC-BY-NC (please contact me if you want to use any of my observations in your scientific publication. I'm willing to change the license if you want to use my photos for a Wikipedia article)
The majority of my observations are from Moscow, Russia and Astana, Kazakhstan, but I love travelling and in the future I hope to visit more places, and observe the wildlife I find there.
My main subjects are vascular plants, nonvascular plants, and arthropods, but you may also see reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals, fungi, slime molds, and other living organisms I come across.
I appreciate everyone who adds IDs to my observations. Thank you for helping me learn more!

Identifier
Initial 2024 goal: 30 000 identifications. - REACHED
Current 2024 goal: 50 000 identifications
on 06.06.2024 I became the top identifier of liverworts on the website

I am primarily interested in Liverworts (Marchantiophyta) and spend most of my time on iNaturalist identifying them. I don't focus on one specific region when identifying liverworts and try to learn species from all around the world. Personally, I find Oceanian flora the most fascinating.

My dream is to become a professional hepaticologist and describe at least one new species.

If you want me to identify your liverwort observation, you may mention me in the comments as @w4v, or send me a direct message. Please be patient; sometimes it takes me a while to go through notifications and decide on the correct ID.

I often go through lots of "Research Grade" observations to check them for any possible mistaken IDs.

Plants and arthropods are my main interests, but I love all of nature - extant or extinct, I want to learn all about the inhabitants of our Earth! I'm always learning and sometimes branch out to new groups to identify.

Feel free to correct me if you believe that I've made an incorrect ID, or ask me for an explanation for any of my IDs!

Other
I add observations to my Favorites all the time for all kinds of reasons (liking the picture, wanting to save the observation to ID it later, finding the depicted behavior interesting, and so on). Please don't be alarmed if I do that.

Various resources, mainly on liverworts and hornworts.

Well, that's all for now. Have a good day, fellow naturalist!

It is my wish that all of the content I have contributed to iNaturalist (media, observations, identifications, comments etc) remain on the site in the event of my death.
