I found pictures of this butterfly on someone's butterflies of Colorado page but not sure of the ID; seems like there are several butterflies that are fairly similar
This one was in close proximity to all the other butterflies I am posting at this location on Mesa Creek Trail just west of Morrow Point Dam
Found on purple coneflower at Nenawakwa Reserve.
There are occasional sightings of Fritillaries in this area, both along the Coastal trail between Shell Beach and Goat Rock, and also along the Pomo Trail above the road.
Saw 11 of these with David Rawlinson. They were visiting the occasional Bull Thistle and few scabby remaining patches of coyote mint.
